November 29, 2018: SOAP #3283:  1Thes 4-5; 2Thes 1-3

Scripture:  2Thessalonians (NIV) 1:8 He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. 9 They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power

Observation Those who do not know God and do not obey His word have a terrible future ahead of them.  Their punishment is everlasting!  There will not be another opportunity to change destiny. There will be no future hope of spending eternity in the Presence of the Lord.  There will be no hope to experience His majestic power working on their behalf.

It is not enough to know about God.  Many people have read about God, have heard others talk about God, and have even thought about God, but still do not know Him.

Application: To know God is to enter a relationship with Jesus, accepting His death as the payment for one’s sin and making Christ the Lord of one’s life.  Then as one continues in their life, they do so, obeying the Word of their new Lord, Jesus the Christ.

Prayer:  Jesus, I believe you died for my sins and rose again from the dead.  I ask you to forgive my sins.  Make me clean, just as if I had never sinned.  I invite you to live in my life as my Lord.  Thank you for keeping your promise to forgive me.  Thank you for coming to live in my life.  I welcome you to share each moment of my life with you.  I want you to enjoy living in me. Amen
