…tomorrow too…

January 30, 2020: SOAP #3710:  Exodus 25-27; Acts 6

Scripture:  Exodus (NIV) 25:8 “Then have them make a sanctuary for me, and I will dwell among them.

Observation:  In the first two chapters of Genesis we read of God preparing a place for man.  He made a garden, a dwelling place for man where God could spend time with His prize creation.  Man’s sin broke the special fellowship God had with man, but it did not stop His love for man, nor His plan to have a redeemed body (His Church, the body of Christ) to join in ruling God’s creation. Here in Exodus we read of man preparing a place for God!

Application:   What God does for me is beyond measure in importance, yet what I do for God today is important to Him.  And in that light, there is something I can make for Him.  I can make my life a special place for Him to dwell.  I can make it a place free anything that would cause Him discomfort.  Around me may be cursing, but not in the dwelling I am making for Him.  People may not like my singing, but in my heart, He will hear the music He likes.  I will make this dwelling full of His praise.  At the end of this day, I want Him to say, “Leon, I had such a good time here today, I would like to spend tomorrow with you too.” To hear such words from the Creator of the universe would be the greatest compliment I could ever receive!

Prayer:  Holy Spirit, guide me through each day.  Especially watch over my mind and thoughts.  When my thoughts are pleasing to the Lord, I know my attitudes and actions will also please Him.  Amen
