Heaven’s Perspective

November 2, 2020: SOAP #3987:  Job 22; Mark 7-8

Scripture:  Mark (NIV) 12:41 Jesus sat down opposite the place where the offerings were put and watched the crowd putting their money into the temple treasury. Many rich people threw in large amounts. 42 But a poor widow came and put in two very small copper coins, worth only a fraction of a penny. 43 Calling his disciples to him, Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, this poor widow has put more into the treasury than all the others. 44 They all gave out of their wealth; but she, out of her poverty, put in everything—all she had to live on.”

Observation:  The size of the gift impressed most people but what impressed Jesus was the amount left after the giving.

Application:  A small change in perspective can bring a great change in appreciation.  An old car may have little or no value at an auction, until it is announced that it was used in an old famous movie.  A baseball glove may have no value until it is discovered that it is the glove a famous player wore.

A person may appear to be of little consequence until we discover that the creator of the earth valued them so much that He sent His Son to die for them!   If they have that much value to Him, they should have that much value to me.

Prayer:  Holy Spirit, help me to see people from heaven’s perspective.  Amen
