April 29, 2021: SOAP #4165:  2Samuel 4,5; Psalm 139; Matthew 16

SCRIPTURE:  Psalm (NIV) 139:13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful; I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, 16 your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

OBSERVATION: God was watching over us in the womb.  How wonderfully we were created.  Today, man can place a small camera in the womb to photograph the developing child.  It is amazing! Truly, we are “fearfully and wonderfully made.” 

For nine months, we were being prepared to meet the world in which we now live.  Not only was it preparation time for us, but it was also preparation time for our parents. 

APPLICATION:  Now we are living the life for which we were being prepared.  Our parents made ready to care for us and raise us to meet the challenges of life. 

As the womb was preparation for this life, so this life is preparation for eternity!  And as we are being prepared for heaven, so heaven is also being prepared for us.  Jesus said He was going to prepare a place for us!  (John 14:2)

PRAYER:  Heavenly Father, as important was the preparation time in the womb, this life being preparation for eternity is even MORE IMPORTANT!  Holy Spirit, watch over my development.  I am being “fearfully and wonderfully” prepared for eternity!  Use me in this life to help others also prepare for eternity. Amen
