Pastor Leon’s SOAP:  Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer
December 30, 2023: SOAP #5140: Revelation 15-18

SCRIPTURE:  Revelation (NIV) 17:12 “The ten horns you saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but who for one hour will receive authority as kings along with the beast. 13 They have one purpose and will give their power and authority to the beast. 14 They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings— and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers.”

OBSERVATION:  The ten kings make “war against the Lamb.” Ten to one might seem like good odds to them, but they did not know the real identity of the Lamb.  Although known as the “Lamb,” He is really the “Lord of lords” and the “King of kings.”  They do not have a chance! 

APPLICATION:  We need to be careful today.  Jesus loves us and wants to establish a loving relationship with us.  He wants us to love Him in return.  He approaches us in a gentle way.  He wants us to respond by loving Him and willingly doing His bidding.  But when we hear His call, we also hear the more dominant and demanding calls coming from around us.  We must remember that when we say “No” to the meek and gentle Jesus, we are saying “no” to the “King of kings” and the “Lord of lords,” the Mighty Lord of Glory!  We are saying “no” to the One before whom we will stand on that final judgment day! 

PRAYER:  Lord, I want to be in the practice of saying “yes” to you.  “Yes” to your will; “Yes,” to your ways.  Having total confidence in Your love and wisdom I trust your judgments to be better than mine.  Amen
