SCRIPTURE: Genesis (NIV) 3:1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”
OBSERVATION: Satan attacks our faith by sowing seeds of doubt in our hearts. He asks questions that that make us question what we have heard and what we know. Did God really say…. Is that what God means? Would He really want me to… etc.
APPLICATION: God has many ways to speak to His children. Each of us need to grow in hearing His voice and in following through with what He has said.
Believers who have Bibles should be faithful to read in their Bible every day. That is good for two reasons: 1. God often speaks to us through His Word. As we are reading our thoughts are opened to something fresh from the Lord. He may give us encouragement or direction. And 2. God uses His word to confirm what He is saying through other sources, or to correct what we have heard.
Believers who do not have a copy of the Bible, should be faithful to gather with others and listen to anointed preachers reading and expounding the Word. When you meet with other believers, discuss what God is saying to you. You will find that what God is saying to them will be useful to you.
PRAYER: Holy Spirit, I need your input into my heart and mind to keep me walking in truth. Satan tries to side-track me from understanding truth, but you hold me steady in the Word. Help me keep my eyes on Jesus and my ears open to what you are saying to me. Amen
