SCRIPTURE: 2Corinthians (NIV) 9:6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7. Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
OBSERVATION: Those who appreciate what God has done for them look for ways to do something that pleases the Lord. The above verse provides a good way to please the Lord. We can give. But it is more than just giving, it is how we give. We should give generously and cheerfully.
God loves this kind of giver so much that He makes sure they will have all that they need to continue giving generously and cheerfully.
APPLICATION: When we learn to give generously and cheerfully, we should not be surprised if God does not bring extra blessings into our lives. We may want to save those extra blessings for a rainy day. But God is providing for us to “abound in every good work!” He is making sure that we can continue to give generously and cheerfully!
PRAYER: Lord, it pleases you when your people are generous and cheerful. May SOAP readers bring joy to your heart by being generous and cheerful givers. Show them today how to use what they have for your glory! Amen.
