SCRIPTURE: Revelation 9:20 The rest of mankind that were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshipping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood—idols that cannot see or hear or walk.
21 Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts.
OBSERVATION: God had done so many things in Israels, and my history, that has proved He can see, hear, and come to our aid. God is clearly not an inanimate (lifeless) creation of man’s hands. An idol must be moved at the pleasure and will of the worshipper. But our God moves at his own pleasure and will. And He works for my good and His glory!
APPLICATION: Knowing this truth about God, should lead me to be quick to repent. He loves me, and He is not playing games with me. Serving Him is very serious business. Making Him my LORD honors Him and is wisdom on my part.
PRAYER: Lord, I want to be quick to repent! I acknowledge that your judgments are always right, yet I ask you to be quick to show mercy. I want to honor you with my daily life. I know that pleasing you brings you joy. Thank you for filling my heart with your joy. Amen.
