September 14: Ezekiel 36-37; Psalm 110; Revelation 19

Scripture: Ezekiel 36: 6 Therefore prophesy concerning the land of Israel and say to the mountains and hills, to the ravines and valleys: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: I speak in my jealous wrath because you have suffered the scorn of the nations.

Observation: In this verse God speaks through His prophet, not to the people, but to the land. As God’s creation, we know that God cares about us so much that He sent His Son to pay the penalty for our sins. Sometimes we need to be reminded that the earth is God’s creation also, and He cares about it too.

Application: I am bothered when someone takes something I have created and treats it disrespectfully and wastefully. I should expect that God would feel the same way about His creation.

Prayer: Lord, forgive me for not treating your creation with more respect. I am not showing much love for you when I waste what you have made. Amen.
