Not even close!

September 17: Ezekiel 42-44; Revelation 22

Scripture: Revelation 22:3 No longer will there be any curse. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will serve him.
4 They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads.
5 There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever.

Observation: When the Apostle Paul considered going to heaven compared to remaining here in this world, he said going was “better by far!” (Philippians 1:23) It isn’t even close! What on earth can possibly compare to seeing Him face to face!

Application: I started this devotion early this morning but did not have time to finish it. Then this afternoon I received the totally unexpected news that my one cousin older than myself, on my dad’s side of my family has just died. I needed this verse. My heart seemed shocked, “Hey, that cannot be; Donna is my generation!”

I like the song:
“What a day that will be, when my Jesus I shall see;
When I look upon His face, the one who saved me by His grace.
When He takes me by the hand, leads me through the promised land;
What a day, glorious day, that will be!” (James Hill)

Prayer: Lord, It will be worth it all when I see You face to face! Amen.
