My Past; My Present

Scripture: Hebrews 4: 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin.
16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Observation: Because of Jesus death to pay for my sins, God’s throne of judgment has been changed into a throne of grace. My approach with fear of punishment has been changed into an approach with a sure expectation that I will find mercy and grace!

Application: At God’s throne I find mercy that forgives my past sins! And as amazing as that is, I also find something even greater. I find grace to help me win in my present struggle.

Prayer: Lord, you do not forgive me to be free to repeat yesterday’s sins, but, knowing my weaknesses, your grace helps me overcome today’s struggle. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Amen.
