Pastor Leon’s SOAP: Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer

October 29: Job 20; Mark 3-4

Scripture: Mark 4: 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, "Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?"
39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, "Quiet! Be still!" Then the wind died down and it was completely calm.
40 He said to his disciples, "Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?"
41 They were terrified and asked each other, "Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!"

Observation: When in a boat in a storm, it is good to have the “Storm Calmer” in the boat. Suddenly the disciples became aware that One with them in the boat had power over the wind and waves!

Application: This same Jesus has forgiven my sins and lives in me. He is not just in my boat, He is in my life!!! The “Wind and Wave Calmer” lives in me!

Prayer: Lord, I am blest to have you living in me. It is my joy to share this life with you! Amen.
