December 16: 1Peter 1-5

Scripture: 1Peter 3: 15 But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,
16 keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander.

Observation: The Lordship of Jesus will not stay in the heart, but it must start in the heart. When Jesus becomes Lord of the inner life, He will then become Lord of the outer life.

Application: The One who is truly Lord of my heart will become Lord of my words and actions. He will direct and help me to give gentle answers that are respectful. He will help me to act in such a way makes my accusers look foolish.

Prayer: Lord, I surrender my thoughts to you. You are Lord of my mind. And you are Lord of my words and actions. Amen
