Pastor Leon’s SOAP: Scripture, Observation, Application, Prayer

December 20: John 7-8

Scripture: John 7:45 Finally the temple guards went back to the chief priests and Pharisees, who asked them, "Why didn’t you bring him in?"
46 "No-one ever spoke the way this man does," the guards declared.

Observation: The temple guards were not the decision makers, but were servants of the priests and rulers. They had been given an assignment. They had been sent to arrest Jesus. But they returned empty handed. By listening to Jesus, they became convinced that Jesus was not someone to be arrested. He was Someone to be heard!

Application: I want my words to carry the message that Jesus has something to say to us today. He has something to say to people who live where I live and work where I work. It is not difficult to hear Him speak and it is worth while taking the time to listen.

Prayer: Lord, as I listen to you, give me words that will make others want to listen to you also. Amen
