Pastor Leon’s SOAP: Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer

November 10: Job 35, 36; 1Corinthians 7, 8

Scripture: 1Corinthians (NIV) 7:22 For those who were slaves when called to faith in the Lord are the Lord’s freed people; similarly, those who were free when called are Christ’s slaves. 23 You were bought at a price; do not become slaves of human beings.

Observation: High and low economic status and social standing mean nothing in God’s kingdom. That I am a servant in the kingdom of God takes priority. The Lord has set me free from the greatest slave master of all—sin!

Application: When I consider what Jesus has done for me, being His servant takes priority over all earthly standings.

Prayer: Lord, you became my servant in dying to pay the penalty for my sin. What a price you paid! Now I am your servant. May my service bring you joy! Amen
