Pastor Leon’s SOAP: Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer

December 26: Psalm 117; 119:81-176; 2John; 3John

Scripture: Psalm (NIV) 117:1 Praise the LORD, all you nations; extol him all you peoples. 2 For great is his love toward us, and the faithfulness of the LORD endures forever. Praise the LORD.

Observation: Why should all nations praise Him; why should all people speak of His greatness? -because His love is expressed toward every one of them! No one is left out of His expression of love. No one is left out of giving Him praise. Not only is His love expressed toward all of us—it is GREAT toward us!

Application: How long should we praise the LORD? A good answer would be from verse two above—as long as His faithfulness endures! His faithfulness endures through all my good times and bad times. It continues even when I am found to be faithless. His faithfulness continues forever! My praise should also continue forever! I remember standing with my arms raised and singing with all my heart: “Jesus, I’ll praise you forever. Jesus I’ll praise you forever. No matter what the cost may be; I’ll praise you Lord, eternally! My mind’s made up; I’ll praise you forever.” (Unknown)

Prayer: Jesus, forever You are worthy of my praise. Forever surely includes today! So today is a day of praise! Amen
