…not done in a corner.

October 25, 2015:  SOAP #2152

Scripture:  Acts (NIV) 26:24 At this point Festus interrupted Paul’s defense. “You are out of your mind, Paul!” he shouted. “Your great learning is driving you insane.” 25 “I am not insane, most excellent Festus,” Paul replied. “What I am saying is true and reasonable.  26 The king is familiar with these things, and I can speak freely to him. I am convinced that none of this has escaped his notice, because it was not done in a corner.

Observation:    In making his defense, Paul had just spoken of Jesus death and resurrection.  He was confident that Festus would have heard about Jesus because His death and resurrection had not happened “in a corner.”

Application:   Jesus has not forgiven my sins and taken up residence in my life so that I would be hidden away out of sight.  There are times when my life seems to be on display, even the things I think are insignificant.   God has planned my life to be lived out, like Jesus, in the open were people can see what is taking place.

Prayer:   Lord, when you called me to be your witness, it was more than just with words.  Help me live in such a way that people can see your message lived out in my life.    Amen
