May 22, 2016: SOAP #2362: 1Kings 8; 2Chronicles 5; Psalm 99; Romans 3

Scripture: Romans (NIV) 3:3 What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God’s faithfulness? 4 Not at all!…

Observation: There is nothing that man can do that will cause God to be unfaithful; He is faithful to Himself; He is faithful to His character. God is faithful to His word. God does not respond to me because of my character, but because of His character. When he responds to my actions, he responds according to His holiness and love. His promises to bring judgment are just as important as His promises to bless.

Application: It is easy to respond in kind to others. If they are nice to, it is easy to be nice to them. If they are rude to me, there is a temptation to be rude in return. God desires me to be faithful to His character living in me.

Prayer:   Heavenly Father, You have been faithful to me. As your child, I want to be faithful because I want to be like you. As your servant, faithfulness is required. As your son, I want people to recognize your faithfulness being expressed through me. Amen
