Illogical

September 4, 2016: SOAP #2467:  Ezekiel 22-24; Revelation 9

Scripture:  Revelation (NIV) 9:20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood: which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:

Observation:  Sin is so illogical!   People worship idols made of gold, silver, brass, stone and wood.  These idols cannot see, cannot hear, or cannot walk.  The God who can see, who can hear, and who can walk—move Himself around without being carried, this God brings judgment on them for their sins, yet they illogically choose to worship the lifeless idols that cannot do anything for itself, or for them!

Application:  To put my trust in my job, or my government, or my savings account, or my own abilities rather than to trust in the Lord God is just as illogical!    To forget that God is holy is a major mistake!  To think that sin is of no importance is to ignore what it cost His Son to provide forgiveness and entrance for me into His presence totally forgiven.

Prayer:    Holy Spirit, help me make good decisions based on what I know about my loving and holy Heavenly Father. Amen
