February 10, 2017: SOAP #2626: Leviticus 13-14; Acts 17
Scripture: Acts (NIV) 17:22 Paul then stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: “Men of Athens! I see that in every way you are very religious. 23 For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with this inscription: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. Now what you worship as something unknown I am going to proclaim to you.
Observation: My attention was drawn to the word “carefully.” Paul had been carefully looking around. I imagine he was carefully looking to find something he could use as a starting place to tell them about Jesus.
Application: I need to have faith that God has things for me to use in telling people about Jesus. Like Paul, I need to look around carefully to find what God has strategically placed nearby. I need to be open to the Holy Spirit as He draws my attention to something useful.
Prayer: Holy Spirit, help me notice what is available for me to use in telling people about Jesus. Amen
