March 1, 2017: SOAP #2645:  Numbers 28-29; Mark 8

Scripture:  Mark (NIV) 8:5 “How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked.

Observation:   Four thousand men (plus women and children) were hungry.  Jesus asked the disciples what they had to feed such a crowd.  They had seven loaves and a few fish.   Jesus took what they had a blest it and broke it and gave it back to the disciples to give to the crowd.  Everyone had plenty to eat with seven baskets full left over.  What they had was enough!!!

Application:  I look at the impossible need before me.  Jesus asks me, “What do you have?”  As long as what I have remains in my hands, it will never meet the need.  But if I give Him what I have, He can multiply it to meet the need with such abundance that I will have more when I am finished than when I started!!!   What I have is enough!!!

Prayer:   Heavenly Father, what I have may never be enough if I keep it in my hands, but when placed in your hands, it becomes more than enough!  May I never be hesitant in giving to you!  Amen
