SCRIPTURE: Colossians (NIV) 1:16 For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. 17 He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. 18 And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.19 For God was pleased to have all his fulness dwell in him, 20 and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.
OBSERVATION: What a chapter about who Jesus is and what He has done for us. In verse 16 we see His work in creation; in verse 20 we see His work in redemption. He created us and He redeemed us.
He had the joy of creation and the pain and suffering of redeeming us.
APPLICATION: If you have a copy of the Bible, take time and read this whole chapter. If you have friends who do not have a Bible, gather them around and together read this chapter.
Consider who Jesus is; how great HE is; what he has done for us; and what we can do to bring Him the honor He deserves.
PRAYER: Lord, my heart overflows with love and appreciation when I think about how great you are and what you have done for me. You died for my sins; you forgave me and cleansed me from all my sins. You have made me a part of your family. Your Father is now my Heavenly Father. May my life bring you joy today. Amen
