SCRIPTURE: John (NIV) 17:13 It was important that these prayers be prayed now! They should not wait until there was more time. They could not wait until the passion of the moment passed. They needed to be prayed now.
OBSERVATION: I believe it was important that these prayers be prayed from earth’s perspective. Those in heaven surely participate with Jesus as He ever lives to make intercession. Prayer in heaven is prayed from heaven’s point of view. It is prayed with greater knowledge and understanding. Prayer from the earth requires more faith, and faith pleases God.
APPLICATION: I believe it is important that we pray here.
On earth, we do not have the advantage of the knowledge available in heaven. We must pray in the Spirit!
On earth, we do not have the visible Presence of Almighty God to bolster our courage in asking. We must pray with more faith.
On earth, we have an adversary trying to hinder our prayers. We must pray to victory.
PRAYER: Lord, our goal is to be like you and that includes in praying. Like your disciples requested, “Teach us to pray.” May we pray prayers that you will enjoy answering. Amen
