SCRIPTURE: Luke (NIV) 8:16 “No-one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.
OBSERVATION: In John 9:5, Jesus said, “While I am the world, I am the light of the world.” What about when he returned to His Father in heaven? Who would be the light of the world then? In Matthew 5:14, Jesus said “You are the light of the world.”
We are the light of the world as we have HIS light within us. Our light is not to be hidden. God has so designed us that anyone who comes near will see our light.
APPLICATION: I should not be surprised if people look at my light and make a comment. God intends for my light to be seen. God intends for my light to be helpful to others. As the lamp is place on a stand, so God has placed my life in special places so people can see the light.
PRAYER: Lord, you did not put your light in me to be hidden. And you did not place me in some private dwelling. You placed me where people can easily see my light, the light you have places within me. Amen.
