OBSERVATION: The king was looking to his “wise” men to answer his question. If he would tell them the dream, they would give him an interpretation as to what they thought it meant. But he wanted them to tell him the dream AND the interpretation. If they could not, all the wise men would die!
Of course, they could not, but there is a God in heaven who can easily do both! …and that is where Daniel went in prayer!
I remember a song we used to sing:
“Got and rivers you think are uncrossable?
Got any mountains you can’t tunnel through?
God specializes in things thought impossible,
and He will do what no other power can do!” (Oscar Eliason -1907}
APPLICATION: May I, like Daniel, not be afraid to take on a challenge greater than myself. There is a God in heaven! He sees all. He knows all. And he speaks! He shares his knowledge and wisdom! To understand what he is saying to me is the most valuable ability I have. Like good earthly parents, this Heavenly Parent communicates with me in ways I understand
PRAYER: Lord, help me grow in recognizing the many ways you speak to me. Help me grow in understanding what you are saying to me. You are always bigger than any problem I have. Amen
