SCRIPTURE: Luke (NIV) 1:35 The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God.
36 Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be barren is in her sixth month.
37 For nothing is impossible with God.”
OBSERVATION: To Mary’s question as to how she would become pregnant having never known a man, the angel answered that the Holy Spirit would make the impossible happen. Even her elderly, barren, cousin would become pregnant.
Then the angel made a statement of universal truth. It applies to Mary’s circumstances; it applies to Elizabeth’s circumstances: “NOTHING IS IMPOSSIBLE WITH GOD!”
APPLICATION: If has assigned you a task or ministry, always remember that God is not sending you to do it in your strength or ability. Mary could no more make herself pregnant than could Moses cause the Red Sea to open for the Israelites. God was not giving her an assignment that she would need to make happen, He was telling Her what God would do through her.
When God gives us an assignment, like raising a family, or starting a church, He is telling us what He will be doing through us! Sixteen years ago, God gave me the assignment to write SOAPs and He is the one doing this through me. When I hear of how God uses the SOAPs, it does not surprise me.
PRAYER: Lord, SOAP Is your ministry. The scriptures are from Your Word. You place the thoughts about application in my heart. You are the One who draws the attention of others to what is written, to what is printed and distributed. The testimonies we receive encourage those who have become a part of the SOAP ministry…encourage us to continue. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of what you are doing in the earth today. Thank you for your provisions for your ministry. Amen
