January 26, 2016:  SOAP #2245:   

Scripture:  Acts (NIV) 2:46 Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, 47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.

Observation:   They met together in public places.  They met together in private homes.  They shared meals together.  They were glad to be a part.  It was important to them.  They were known for their praise and worship.  The blessing in the church overflowed to those outside the church.  It was difficult to find fault with them.  NO WONDER the Lord added to their number!!!

Application:   When I become convinced that the life of God is really in me and I allow Him to live His life through me, He will use me for His glory.  When the church understands the Life that makes them the church and lets that Life express himself through the members of the church, the Lord will add to the church.  The church just needs to be what the church is and just do what the church does.

Prayer:   Lord, forgive me for not allowing you to be who you are in me.  Help me to become an open channel through which you can flow unhindered to others. Amen
