One Request

October 5, 2016: SOAP #2498:  Esther 3-8; Luke 18

Scripture:  Luke (NIV) 18:39 Those who led the way rebuked him and told him to be quiet, but he shouted all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!” 40 Jesus stopped and ordered the man to be brought to him. When he came near, Jesus asked him, 41 “What do you want me to do for you?” “Lord, I want to see,” he replied. 42 Jesus said to him, “Receive your sight; your faith has healed you.” 43 Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised

Observation: “What do you want me to do for you?”   This blind man had Jesus’ attention!  The Healer was concerned about his need.  The One who could heal him was now standing before him.  And, what a question!  The man did not have to think long.  He knew what he wanted.  His response was simple; the results immediate!

Application:   What would be my first response to such a question from Jesus?  What is the one prayer I want Him to answer above all others?   Is there one person whose salvation means more to me than anything else?

Prayer:   Lord Jesus, make me more like you, I pray.  To see things as you see them.  To love those around me as you love me.   Amen
