November 8, 2016: SOAP #2532:  Job 33, 1Corinthians 1-3

Scripture:  1Corinthians (NIV) 1:4 I always thank God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus.  5 For in him you have been enriched in every way—in all your speaking and in all your knowledge— 6 because our testimony about Christ was confirmed in you.

Observation:  What God was doing in the lives of the believers in Corinth was always a source of rejoicing for Paul.  They had received God’s grace which was noticeable in their speaking and thinking.  People around them could see the difference—they talked differently and they considered life’s problems from a different point of thinking.  God’s enriching presence in their lives was making a difference.

Application:   How can Christ live in me by His Holy Spirit and it not affect my speaking and my thinking!!!  As I grow in Christ, every thought and word comes under His evaluation.  I come to trust His judgment of everything in my life more than my own judgment.

Prayer:   Holy Spirit, help me to pause and listen before speaking and doing.  I want to proceed in life expecting to hear what you are saying.   Amen
