Living by Faith
Scripture: Hebrews (NIV) 10:38 But my righteous one will live by faith. And if he shrinks back, I will not be pleased with him.
Hebrews (KJV) 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
Observation: The writer of the book of Hebrews is quoting the Old Testament Habakkuk 2:3. As I was reading this scripture, my mind was drawn to the word “live.” The scripture does not say the just shall have faith or speak his faith. Both are important. But these passages say that the just shall “live” by faith.
Application: Living by faith means that my faith is a major part of every decision I make. My faith can be seen in my everyday life. It is a part of my conversations. It is a part of my choices. It is a part of my Sunday, but also just as important part of Monday through Saturday. It is a part of my being in church, but also just as important part of my being at home and at work.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, You are pleased when I LIVE by faith. I like pleasing You! It is easy for people to see You living in me when I LIVE by faith. Amen
