July 31, 2015: SOAP #2066:

Scripture: John (NIV) 2:9 And the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10 and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink; but you have saved the best till now.”

Observation: The benefits of being a servant: having the best seat in the house. They were the first to know what had happened. The nature of being a servant put them at the center of the action.

Application: What a privilege to be God’s servant! It often gives me a unique perspective on what is happening.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, it is a wonderful honor to be your servant. May I never cease to be amazed at your works! Amen
