January 18: Genesis 44-46; Luke 18
How can I say “Thanks!”
Scripture: Luke (NIV) 18:43 Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus, praising God. When all the people saw it, they also praised God.
Observation: Having been blind and now living as a beggar, this man did not have much to leave behind. When he was healed, he began following Jesus. He followed enthusiastically and his enthusiasm was catching. It just would not have been right if he had disappeared quietly into the crowd.
Application: Jesus paid for my sins by His death on the cross. He forgave me and considers me just as if I had never sinned!!! How wrong it would be for me to disappear quietly into the crowd. How right it is for me to follow Him enthusiastically!
Prayer: Lord, like Andrea Crouch sings: “How can I say thanks for the things You have done for me, Things so undeserved, Yet You gave to prove Your love for me. The voices of a million angels could not express my gratitude. All that I am and ever hope to be, I owe it all to Thee.” Amen.
